Terra for business: hazard and climate scores for any coordinate on Earth, by API.
Send a latitude and longitude, or a thousand of them. Get back a 0–100 score for each of ten natural hazards, for today and for 2050 and 2085 under three climate paths, with the measurement behind each score, a written brief, and the source of every number.
What it is for
Comparing sites, screening locations, giving customers context about a destination, and editorial use.
What it is not for
It is not a catastrophe model, and it may not be used for insurance rating, underwriting, eligibility or claims, for credit decisions, or for any decision about an individual or a specific property.
Terra scores ~10 km hexagonal cells from public global datasets — it is area analysis, not a property assessment. Tornado history covers the United States only; flood hazard is modeled at ~1 km and ignores local defenses; hurricane records before 1966 and wildfire records before 2001 are incomplete. Where data is missing or coarse for your area, Terra says so instead of guessing.
How it works
- A keyed REST API: score, brief, compare and batch, the same scores the globe shows.
- A point is one location scored. Plans are metered in points a month, with no overage charges: a plan stops at its limit.
- Scores change when the public datasets are rebuilt, about once a year. Every response names the data vintage it came from.
