Privacy

Terra does not require an account. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log in to.

How the purchase works

The $4.99 unlock is processed by Stripe. When you unlock, Stripe receives your card details and the email address you give it. Terra never sees your card. Stripe handles the payment under its own privacy terms.

What Terra stores in your browser

After the payment, Terra stores a short unlock token in your browser's local storage. That token is how the site remembers you have unlocked the full interface on this device. Terra keeps no other record of you on the website.

No advertising trackers

Terra does not run ad trackers, pixels or third-party analytics on the public site. The map tiles and the gazetteer are served from our own infrastructure.

The business API

For API customers with an API key, we keep a per-key usage count so we can bill fairly and enforce rate limits. That count is not tied to the public website.
